Former UKM Student Activist Loke Siew Fook appointed as Political Secretary to DAP Secretary General, YB Kerk Kim Hock

Effective from 16th July 2002, former UKM student activist Loke Siew Fook have been appointed as the Political Secretary to DAP Secretary General, YB Kerk Kim Hock. 

Loke, 25 who hails from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan completed his primary and secondary education at St. Paul's Institution, Seremban. He graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in the year 2000 with an Honors Degree in Developmental Science (majoring in Economics and Management). 

As a student activist during his university days, he represented his university in many leading international students conferences including the renowned Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) in 1998 and 1999 both in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong respectively. He's also an alumnus of AIESEC Malaysia and was the Youth Trade Commissioner to Canada under the Rakan Muda Team Malaysia programme in 1999. 

Loke joined DAP in 1994 as an ordinary member in Seremban branch and began his service in the party's headquarters in January 2002 as a Special Project Executive. Currently, he also holds the position as the Assistant Organizing Secretary of DAP Negeri Sembilan and DAPSY (Youth) Negeri Sembilan Pro-tem Chief. 

Loke's appointment is to replace the current Political Secretary to DAP Secretary General, Hew Kuan Yau who has resigned from his current position to further his studies in Philosophy of Doctorate (PhD) in Comparative History in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) from August 2002 to August 2005. Hew has been granted a full scholarship by the CUHK to pursue his Doctorate.
