Police report to be lodged
tomorrow to initiate investigation on the RM1 billion Westport
scandalous land deal and the involvement of PKA chairman Yap Pian Hon,
Transport Minister Datuk Chan Kong Choy (or former Transport Minister
Tun Ling Liong Sik)?
Media Statement
by Ronnie Liu Tian Khiew
(Kuala Lumpur,
Friday): I
will be making a police report tomorrow at the Petaling Jaya police
headquarters for the police to initiate an investigation on the Westport
land deal and the involvement of Datuk Yap Pian Hon, the Port Klang
Authority Chairman and Serdang MP.
According to a press report in
The Sun newspaper dated Wednesday November 24, 2004, the PKA paid RM1
billion for 1,000 acres of land in Westport. Even the Securities Commission
deemed the sum was well over the market price.
I have issued a media statement
on the following day, urging Yap Pian Hon to explain the case. I have given
him ample time but he has chosen to ignore our call for transparency and
accountability of the people’s funds.
May be the Transport Minister
Datuk Chan Kong Choy should also explain to Malaysians on the scandalous
land deal, as PKA is under the jurisdiction of his ministry. Can he claim
that he has no knowledge of the land deal, and in fact it was the baby of
the former Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ling Liong Sik (now Tun)?
