(Petaling Jaya, Wednesday) : Selangor DAP to form a three-man Selangor DAP Ijok By-election Campaign Committee to coordinate election campaign workers from Selangor DAP to fully assist Parti Keadilan Rakyat in the by-election. The chairman of the committee is Sdr Ronnie Liu, Sdr T. Kannan will be the vice chairman and Sdr Peter Tan. Sdr Ronnie Liu is currently the NGO Bureau Chief of DAP, while Sdr T. Kannan is a leader from Selangor DAP and Sdr Peter Tan is the vice chairman of Selangor DAP. 

DAP and PKR should cooperate closely in the Ijok by-election. Selangor DAP fully support PKR candidate, Sdr Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, National Treasurer of PKR, to be the opposition candidate in Ijok by-election and we are convinced that Sdr Tan Sri is capable to bring changes for constituents in Ijok. 

We are very concerned about the by-election this time as it will be a reference as to how electorate in Selangor cast their vote for the coming general election. Therefore, we will work closely in the campaign to explain to the people on various difficulties faced by the nation. 

It is our opinion that the 20.9% Chinese voters and 28.3% Indian voters in Ijok are playing crucial role in this by-election. Selangor DAP will therefore concentrate on Chinese and Indian Voters in Ijok. 

In addition to that, we would like to urge the Police to explain on the incident whereby two DAP members are assaulted by BN campaigners during the nomination day of Machap by-election, as well as reports that voters in Machap were bribed to vote BN, as the people is awaiting the investigation report from the Police as to avoid similar happenings from taking place in Ijok again. 

We wish that the Election Committee can maintain its independence and integrity by carrying out the fairest, the most independent and most transparent election in the history of the nation.
