(Petaling Jaya, Thursday) : Former DAP Selangor State Chair Sdr Ong Chee Keng should withdraw and apologise for his false and uncultured slurs of “eunuchs” against DAP CEC leaders, which I was told he repeated in the front-page of Sin Chew Jit Poh on 24.1.2007.

However I am shocked to read in the Malaysiakini today that Ong denied making such slurs against CEC leaders and blamed DAP Secretary-General Sdr Lim Guan Eng for using this issue to divert attention. Sdr Lim spoke the truth that Ong had admitted during the CEC meeting on 22.1.2007 that he had personally attacked CEC leaders as ‘eunuchs’.

As a lawyer, I believe I have a responsibility to let the truth prevail. I am not from Selangor and have nothing against Ong. But I can not remain silent at such perversion of the truth by Ong when I was present at the CEC meeting and sitting nearest to Ong. I shall therefore state the facts evident to all CEC members present.

“After the motion to convene an emergency Selangor State Committee meeting was adopted by the CEC and the date of the meeting fixed with Ong on Thursday night 25.1.2007, Sdr Lim Guan Eng had asked Sdr Ong whether he had any more complaints on this issue. Sdr Ong replied that he had none.

Sdr Lim then proceeded to ask Sdr Ong why he had personally attacked CEC leaders with such language as ‘eunuchs’. Sdr Ong replied that ‘it was a fact’.

I felt extremely offended and asked him to explain why he used the word “eunuchs” to describe CEC leaders. Other CEC leaders demanded him to withdraw and apologise. Ong appeared lost for words and could not answer.

Then Sdr Ong suddenly announced his resignation from all posts. Ong never explained nor answered why he personally attacked CEC leaders with the words ‘eunuchs’. He then left the meeting abruptly”
