Yes, Umno Puchong a big bully!
_______________
(Kuala Lumpur, Friday) : In today's cover story "About-turn slammed" (the Sun), I was quoted as saying that "DAP will be putting up cabins in open fields and then apply for the permits", creating an impression that DAP is following the footsteps of Umno. No, what I said was "to force an issue, DAP will be putting up a cabin next to the one put up by Umno illegally, and see what MPSJ is going to react." That's because by such action, the MPSJ may be then forced to rethink about their "about-turn", which is silly, unacceptable and illlegitimate. It was never our intention to follow the footsteps of the local Umno warlords because we too believe that "two wrongs does not make one right" (borrowing the words of Citizen Nades of the Sun). In Nadeswaran's column today, he revealed that the local Umno state assemblyman Satem was the one who influenced the MPSJ to make the about-turn. Satem lectured the MPSJ in a pre-council meeting, saying something like "how dare you guys tear down the flag of the government party like Umno". So, the Umno Puchong is now confirmed as a BIG BULLY.But how about the representatives from MCA, Gerakan and MIC? Why were all of them keeping quite in the meeting, as if "they have heard nothing"? What a bunch of cowards! DAP will not be keeping mum over the bullying tactic of Umno. We have decided to take up the issue and the Selangor state committee will be holding a protest at the open field early next week. We will also send a memo of protest to Adnan, the YDP of MPSJ. BTW, some four years ago, we put up a small hut directly next to the MCA Serdang office (also to force an issue) when MCA was found building a two-storey building on a road divider. Illegally occupying open space seems to be a normal practice common among the BN ruling component parties. You can see these illegal structures in Seputeh, Kepong, Puchong, Petaling Jaya… practicaqlly all over the country. It's time for the DAP to act. And to put a stop to these nonsense and public nuisance. (16/3/2007)
