Press Statement by Lim Guan Eng in Georgetown on Monday, 11^th May 2009: 

Let justice be done – let the Perak voters decide protect democracy by wiping out the shame of the police takeover of the State Assembly on 7/05/09 

The momentous High Court decision today declaring that Datuk Seri Mohd Nizar is still the rightful Menteri Besar of Perak is a victory for the people of Perak, democracy and justice. This decision not only restores the Pakatan Rakyat Excos to their former position but also the shame of the police violent takeover of the Perak DUN proceedings on 7/5/09 that brought shame to Perak and the country in the eyes of the world.

DAP reiterates its call of an immediate dissolution of the Perak State Assembly and hold fresh elections in Perak to allow the rakyat the right to choose their own government. Only by returning power to the people, then can honour be returned to Perak and Malaysia.
