Press conference statement by Lim Guan Eng in DAP National HQ, Petaling Jaya on Friday, 13th August 2010: DAP leaders to highlight three principal policy initiatives beneficial to the Rakyat The CEC meeting unreservedly condemns the death threat made against Petaling Jaya Utara Member of Parliament, YB Tony Pua, and his family through a threatening note and a live M16 bullet. The DAP CEC expresses both solidarity and concern with Tony Pua and his family. The CEC is concerned as M16 firearms are not permitted to be owned by the general public and only allowed for use by Malaysian security personnel. This gives rise to unhealthy speculation as the implication are both serious and dangerous. DAP CEC urges the police and the Federal government to view this death threat to Tony Pua and its possible implications seriously to avoid unhealthy speculation about the possible connections of the M16 live bullet. The DAP CEC has also decided that DAP leader throughout the country should highlight three major policy initiatives beneficial to the people to be undertaken by PR should PR win federal power in Putrajaya. One, abolish 'saman ekor' as blacklisting owners of vehicles is not only unfair but also declared illegal by courts as contrary to natural justice. Two, approve RM1,000 yearly to all senior citizens above 60 years old in appreciation for their past contributions to the country. Three, encourage innovation and breed human talent by providing free wifi throughout Malaysia. DAP leaders must also aggressively rebut BN lies that DAP is communist and anti-Malay/anti-Islam. *Lim Guan Eng, DAP Secretary General & Penang Chief Minister
