Pig heads thrown in mosque should be strongly condemned by all Malaysians

I am shocked and saddened to learn that pig heads were discovered to have been thrown into a mosque in Taman Datuk Harun and another mosque in Taman Sentosa this morning.

I unreservedly condemn this act of desecrating a place of worship. I urge all right-thinking Malaysians to join me in condemning it and disassociate themselves from it.

This act goes against the values of all religions in Malaysia. I believe that these perpetrators of this act are either truly misguided in their faith or more likely, God-less people who do not represent any ethnic or religious group but their own narrow, mischievous and criminal thinking.

I urge all Malaysians to stay calm and not react violently to this cowardly act.

Neither should we retreat into our respective ethnic or religious groups for perceived safety and protection from any perceived “external threat”.

Instead, this is an opportunity for us to rise up in unity to strongly condemn this shameful act and send a strong message that such acts have no place in the Malaysia that we call our home.
