Media statement by M.Kula Segaran in Ipoh on Thursday, 18th November 2010: I pledge to play my active and continued role in both state and national politics to help achieve the Pakatan Rakyat's twin electoral objectives - to recapture Perak state power and to march towards Putrajaya On Monday November 15, I received a sms from Sdr Ngeh Koo Ham informing me of my cooption into the new Perak DAP state leadership. His sms reads "Sdr Kula Would like to inform you that the new state committee unanimously agree to co opt you and elect you to the post of Vice Chairman. Looking forward to working together with you." I have said then that i would seek feedback and views from party leaders and grassroots as well supporters on whether I should accept such a cooption. I stated that among the factors which I should like to find out was how best I could continue to play an effective and meaningful role in state politics. Since then I have received much and valuable feedback which I appreciate very much. After having weighed all opinions and taking into consideration the present political development and circumstances within Perak DAP, I have decided to decline the cooption offer from the state committee as a state committee member and as state vice chairman. This decision is in no way an announcement that I am quitting state politics. I pledge to play my active and continued role in both state and national politics to help achieve the Pakatan Rakyat's twin electoral objectives - to recapture Perak state power and to March towards Putrajaya. * M. Kula Segaran, DAP National Vice Chairman & MP for Ipoh Barat
