The special internal audit report on MAPS in section 4.3.4 stated that the legitimacy of the cost incurred to construct and developed Selfie boardwalk in the supplementary contract No. 1 could be questioned as the attraction need to be shut down after less than one year after the soft opening of MAPS.
Based on the audit report, RM285k was paid to construct and develop the Selfie Boardwalk. The management has decided to shut down Selfie Boardwalk on 11 June 2018 due to safety reason and remain closed to this day.
The audit report also raised question on whether the RM285k paid to construct the Selfie Board is worth the quality ATP is getting as it needs to be shut down less than a year into operation. The audit also stated that MAPS is unable to maximize the utilization of the attraction.
I urge Zambry to explain the decision to construct the Selfie Boardwalk and why was RM285k paid to construct an attraction that could only last less than a year?
