Happy Deepavali - keep the lights of democracy, peace, unity and justice
burning
On behalf on the DAP, I will like to extend my warmest greetings to Malaysian
Hindus who will be celebrating Deepavali, the festival of lights, which
symbolizes the victory of good over evil and light over darkness.
The world and Malaysia can become a better and safer place for all human beings
if everyone plays his or her part to ensure the victory of good over evil and
light over darkness.
The world today indeed faces many challenges and uncertainties, and Malaysia is
not exempted from many forms of darkness, which can threaten the nation's peace
and the people's quest for a just, progressive, harmonious, united and secular
democratic nation.
Malaysians, irrespective of their religion, race and culture must strengthen
their commitment and resolve to combat the darkness of international or local
terrorism, religious extremism, racial intolerance, abuses of power and all
forms of human rights violations and social injustices.
We must always keep the lights of democracy, peace, unity and justice burning
and to ensure that such lights can bring hopes and betterment to every race and
every corner in Malaysia.
