Kerk Kim Hock will resume as DAP Secretary General from 22 September 2002


DAP Secretary General, Kerk Kim Hock who has been on leave since April this year to seek treatment for rectal cancer will officially resume his duties and responsibilities as the party Secretary General beginning from 22nd September 2002. 

Kerk who was diagnosed to have rectal cancer on 3rd April has had his tumour removed in an operation on 10th April this year.

He was discharged on 18th April and was recuperating from the surgery at his Melaka home since then. He has also completed all his follow-up treatment. His follow-up treatment included 25 radiotherapy sessions and 6 cycles of chemotherapy sessions. 

His doctor is satisfied that his health condition now is permissible for him to resume his normal work schedule. 

Kerk and his family will like to take this opportunity to express their sincerest gratitude and thanks to party leaders, members, friends, relatives, party supporters and members of the public who have given them their kind words of support and comfort during the treatment period.

His first official duty is to officiate the opening of the DAP Negeri Sembilan 2002 State Ordinary Convention on Sunday, 22nd September in Seremban.
