The first year of the Pakatan Harapan federal administration has been a most challenging year. We have received both brickbats and accolades. While some policies made by the new government have been well received, some announcements leave lots of room for improvement!
The 9th of May is not just a day to remember Pakatan Harapan coming into power and removing the previous kleptocratic government, all cabinet ministers are reminded that 9th of May is also the report card day. Every minister has to announce their performance honestly, carefully evaluate how they have improved the Rakyat’s life, assessing their failures and successes.
The Rakyat are watching the new government, and in their mind, deciding if they want to vote in this government again in GE15.
Whilst there is no doubt that Pakatan Harapan has their heart in the right place – to serve the Rakyat better, to develop the nation to one that we feel happy to leave for our children, the Pakatan Harapan government has not been quick to translate their thoughts and intention to action.
We may have another 4 years before the next general election. I pray that we will continue in the right direction albeit in a faster mode, and continue to serve the Rakyat for many more years to come.
Happy first anniversary, Pakatan Harapan government!
