Call upon all Malaysians to once again rejuvenate the spirit of togetherness and unity

As the Nation will be celebrating 56th year of formation of Malaysia in a matter of less than a week, I call upon all Malaysians to once again rejuvenate the spirit of togetherness and unity. Let’s reject all divisive calls, dirty and toxic politics by irresponsible quarters to divide the nation over to race and religion.

We can see the spirit of togetherness when our Harimau Malaya beat the Indonesian football team in the Group G World Cup Qualifier on 5th September 2019. We could see that the whole country was full of euphoria to see our football team managed to pull a stunning come from behind win against a strong team in Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Indonesia. This is what we want to see more of Malaysia.

This reminisences the time when our football team hit its highest peak in the 1970’s and 80’s. The likes of R. Arumugam a.k.a. The Spiderman, the “Flying Macha” M. Karathu, the super defence Santokh Singh, the ‘taukeh’ Soh Chin Aun, Super Mohk Mokhtar Dahari, the lanky Sabahan James Wong together with Hassan Sani a.k.a. “Lipas Kudung”, Chow Chee Keong the goalkeeper, Abdul Ghani Minhat, the agile Zainal Abidin Hassan and not forgetting Matlan Marjan who scored twice against England in the friendly match the “Flying Macha” immediately came to my mind. All players from different parts of the country and from all races were tirelessly practising and playing hard with a single objective: to win for the beloved country, Malaysia. The win against Indonesia and the never fading support of Harimau Malaya’s 12th player namely the supporters had truly touched the rakyat.

I urge all nation to campaign for “SAYANGI MALAYSIAKU: REJECT DIVISIVE AND DIRTY POLITICS” come 16th September 2019. We should close ranks and with one accord reject any attempt to divide Malaysia apart.
