Calling it undemocratic and a betrayal to voters, Chairman Thomas Fann&nbsp;reiterated that the rakyat\nvoted for Pakatan Harapan and its coalition parties based on its principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is a small group that is\nhijacking the people and country.\u201d said Fann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among those who co-signed the Bersih statement\nwere Suara Rakyat Malaysia (Suaram), Amnesty International Malaysia,\nTransparency International-Malaysia, National Patriot Association (Patriot),\nSisters in Islam and Centre to Combat Corruption and Cronyism (C4), and\nMalaysian Action for Justice and Unity Foundation (Maju).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C4 executive director Cynthia Gabriel said\nMalaysians would never forget such undemocratic attempts to undermine the\nruling coalition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe kleptocrats we kicked out in GE14 are now\nbeing engaged to come back to a political coalition through the backdoor,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn no way can we accept kleptocrats back in\nfederal power. Many of them are being charged in court and we are concerned\nthat the cases will be dropped and they will be able to share political power\nagain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, former Bersih chairman,\nDatuk Ambiga Sreenevasan, along with Amanah and DAP has also called for Tun Dr\nMahathir Mohamad to reconsider after his unexpected resignation as Prime\nMinister. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was stated that Dr. Mahathir resigned based on his principles, as he was hurt by the back door antics and refuses to work with UMNO,  who was allegedly involved in the world\u2019s biggest case of government corruption related to the sovereign fund, 1MDB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Mahathir has also resigned as the\nchairman of Bersatu and will lead several leaders in quitting the party, his\naides told&nbsp;<em>Malay Mail<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ambiga believes that the stability of\nthe country and its people are more important than desperate political\nambitions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFrom the ashes may the phoenix rise\nand may the people see a stronger and more united PH to complete its mandated\ntasks, particularly that of reform.
