On 25 October 2023, the DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) convened to discuss the issue of two DAP elected representatives being conferred Datukship, among other matters.<\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The CEC determined that the actions of the two elected representatives were in violation of the party’s policy, which prohibits accepting any titles while serving as elected representatives.<\/div>\n

Therefore, the CEC strongly reprimanded Sdr Chan Foong Hin and Sdr Phoong Jin Zhe for violating the party’s policy.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The DAP CEC reiterated our position that all elected representatives should focus on serving the people and should only be considered for any awards after retiring from elected office.<\/div>\n
