At the 18th DAP Congress held at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) in Shah Alam last weekend, DAP Secretary-General, Sdr Anthony Loke, announced several important initiatives reflecting the party’s commitment to its reform agenda.<\/p>\n

As a step to strengthen the representation of women within the party, Loke proposed that the DAP Wanita’s Chief be given a permanent role as a member of the Candidate Selection Committee. He emphasized that this step is part of the effort to bring about change and reform within the party.<\/p>\n

Loke also reaffirmed DAP’s commitment to ensuring that at least 30 percent of candidates in the 16th General Election are women.<\/p>\n

“This is no longer a promise, this is no longer a commitment, this must be implemented in the 16th General Election,” he said.<\/p>\n

In addition, Loke also announced the establishment of the P. Patto Education Fund as a tribute to the late P. Patto, a respected DAP political figure.<\/p>\n

The fund aims to assist underprivileged students, particularly those from estate families and in the B40 group, in gaining access to quality education. The establishment of this fund reflects DAP’s commitment to fighting for social justice and education for all segments of society.<\/p>\n
