Media statement by Lim Guan Eng in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, 4th February 2012:

DAP condemns second pig's head found in a week as a gravely disrespectful Act that has no place in peaceful and harmonious Malaysia

For the second time in a week, a pig's head was found outside a mosque. Following a similar incident in Rawang, another pig's head was found outside the gates of the Al-Hidayah Mosque in Sentul.

On behalf of the DAP, I severely condemn this gravely disrespectful act which has no place in our country. We cannot tolerate the desecration of any religious place of worship. Mosques, temples and churches are meant to be places for worship and sanctuary and not to be defiled recklessly.

We believe that the two incidents this week are the work of irresponsible quarters intending to inflame racial, religious and political sentiments of the people ahead of a looming General Election. Peace-loving Malaysians cannot accept such despicable actions.

We urge the authorities especially the police to investigate immediately and hope that the culprits will be brought to justice.
