BN fully responsible over widening polarisation between the majority 51% Malaysians behind PR and BN

BN is fully responsible over widening polarisation between the majority 51% Malaysians behind PR and BN with the abuse of powers by Registrar Of Society(ROS), Police, Immigration Department, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission & Election Commission to benefit BN over public interests. The latest action by ROS against DAP implying possible deregistration and Immigration Department’s ban of Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah from entering Sabah shows that BN is willing to abuse its powers with lies and false charges. Such oppression and injustice is divisive and will not help national reconciliation but instead harm national unity.

DAP condemns Registrar of Societies (ROS) director Abdul Rahman Othman for making outright lies that over 700 DAP delegates were denied their right to vote during the party National Congress last year, because they were not notified. I have never seen a senior government servant openly lie without any sense of shame when ROS had written to us to demand evidence of notices to four DAP branches to attend the party congress - Taman Sri Sungai Pelek in Selangor, Taman Nesa in Skudai, Johor, Desa Dahlia in Seremban and Ladang Paroi, also in Negri Sembilan.

These 4 branches comprise less than 15 delegates, and not ROS’s claim of over 700 delegates. How can Abdul Rahman magnify and exaggerate the disputed less than 15 delegates to suddenly become over 700 delegates? Clearly he is unqualified to be ROS director when he is a liar and a willing tool of UMNO and BN.

Yesterday, National Organising Secretary Anthony Loke had furnished proof that representatives from three out of the four branches - that had been mentioned by ROS in its letter to DAP - did attend the party congress, thus there was no question of them not being notified about the party congress nor being denied their right to vote.

DAP’s condemnation of the ban on Nurul Izzah from entering Sabah has nothing to do with the Sabah 20 point agreement. DAP does not oppose the Sabah 20 point agreement but oppose any tyrannical abuse of power that is completely unfair, unjust and against the spirit of the 20 point agreement. Simlarly DAP’s attack on the police and immigration department is directed at abuses of powers by the few top officers to benefit BN in winning the general elections and not against its entire personnel.

DAP express disgust that the police is conniving with Utusan Malaysia to conduct a witch hunt with baseless allegations and lies of a cyber army paid by DAP, known as the Red Bean Army, to overthrow the government in the internet. DAP states that it has no knowledge of a Red Bean Army and as a poor party can not afford to pay off any member of the so-called Red Bean Army. To date neither the police nor Utusan has said who are members of the Red Bean Army. Clearly these lies of a Red Bean Army able to overthrow a government through writings in the internet is to create fear, even though no dictatorship in history has been overthrown through the internet.

Why is the MACC refusing to even investigate BN leaders who possess unaccountable and extraordinary wealth like Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Taib Mahmud? Worse is when the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Election Commission is more BN than BN in attacking PR because PR demands polls reforms to ensure a clean voter list and that the popular vote reflects the actual result.

DAP urges our supporters to remain calm and steadfast in fighting this latest ROS’ false allegations against the DAP. DAP Central Executive Committee(CEC) will be holding an emergency meeting next Wednesday night at DAP headquarters to discuss the future course of action against the latest lie and attack by ROS director, which DAP sees as setting the ground and conditions to deregister the DAP.
