Takeover of Selangor DAP State Committee: DAP National Treasurer

Wednesday):
The DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC), which met last
night, decided to accept the Central Working Committee's (CWC)
recommendation to take over the Selangor State Committee.
The Central Working Committee, which had met on 19.5.2003, had expressed
concern at the recent Selangor DAP incidents which had caused grave damage
to the Party's image.
The CWC was also concerned about the deep-seated problems in the Selangor
State Committee and the inability of the state leadership to effectively
operate as well gear up for the coming general election.
The CEC, after much deliberation, decided to dissolve the present State
Committee and to establish an interim State Committee. The interim Committee
shall hold office until the new State Committee is elected at the 2003
Selangor State Ordinary Convention scheduled to be held on 10.8.2003.
The 25-person interim State Committee comprises national DAP and DAPSY
leaders as well as all members of the dissolved state committee.
