Justice for Ulu Yam
villagers: Selangor Government should conduct investigation
immediately to return land rights hijacked by influential local
politicians and their cronies
Media Statement
by Ronnie Liu Tian Khiew
(Kuala Lumpur,
Thursday): 14
families have lodged their complaints to me following DAP’s exposure on
the Ulu Yam land scam two weeks ago. More than 200 plots of lands were said
to have changed hand without the knowledge of the original owners.
In some of the cases, land ownerships
given to their families for generations were now in the names of some local
influential politicians including former village heads or their cronies.
And some of them were still in the
dark as the local land office has refused to tell them any details apart
from telling them that their names were no longer exist in the files.
DAP Selangor leaders will be leading
the affected families to call on the local district land office and the
federal land and mines authorities for fact finding.
We urge Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo
to conduct investigations immediately to give justice to the people of Ulu
Yam as this land scandal involves many members of one of the ruling parties
such as former village heads.
