Memo to MPPJ: Local SA and MP failed to serve the interest of Kg Cempaka urban pioneers

(Petaling Jaya, Monday): The urban pioneers living in Kg Cempaka, Petaling Jaya are now extremely disappointed with their local state assemblyman and Member of Parliament over their inactions and empty promises made on the issue of relocation and compensation.

DAP Petaling Jaya Action Team and Shadow MPPJ members were asked to intervene and help resolve their problems when both the local elected representatives have failed to provide proper assistance through MPPJ and the Selangor State Government.

Their inactions have somewhat sabotaged the goal of Zero Squatters Program 2005 set by Selangor.

Both C K Lim and Chew Mei Fun have made a serious blunder for their unwillingness and failures to obtain alternative homes for more than a hundred families currently staying in Kg Cempaka Zone A. These families, including some single-mother families, should have been classified as second, third and fourth families and then be offered low cost units accordingly.

They have also failed to get transit homes and moving cost for the affected villagers.

They did not even care to ask for a long grace period for the people, as more than 150 school children (including those who are sitting for STPM, SPM, PMR and UPSR this year) will be affected. They were only told in May this year by CK Lim to vacate their homes by 31 July 2005.

I have emailed a memorandum (refer to attachment below) to the YDP of MPPJ Dato Ahmad Termizi Haji Puteh on behalf of the affected villagers this afternoon. Copies were also emailed to the Selangor MB Dato Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo.

The representatives appointed by the affected villagers will be presenting the memorandum to the YDP and his officials on the coming Wednesday morning.

I have emailed to Khir Toyo last week to urge him to seriously consider extending the deadline for the Zero Squatters Program 2005 to another year or two in view of the fact that the State Government may not be able to provide sufficient low cost units to all affected urban pioneers.

Memorandum kepada YDP MPPJ Dato' Ahmad Termizi Haji Puteh daripada penduduk Kg Cempka pada 2005-07-06(email pada 2005-07-04)

Datuk YDP yang dihormati,

Dengan segala hormatnya dimaklumkan bahawa semua penduduk di Kg Cempaka bersetuju memindah dari kampong yang kami menduduki sebaik sahaja kami diberi tawaran unit kos rendah dan pampasan yang berpatutan, dan juga tempoh pertangguhan yang cukup untuk pemindahan.

Tetapi malangnya pihak-pihak tertentu (termasuk ADUN kami) yang telah memberi jamainan kepada kami akhirnya gagal mempertahankan hak asasi kami.

Kami memohon jasa baik Datuk YDP untuk memberi bantuan kepada kami. Tutuntan kami tidak berlainan dengan tempat peneroka bandar (setinggan) yang lain seperti berikut:

1. Tawaran unit kos rendah bagi semua keluarga, termasuk keluarga kedua, ketiga dsbnya; tawaran unit kos rendah dengan harga istimewa khas untuk keluarga pertama.
2. Tawaran unit kos rendah dengan harga istimewa untuk keluarga ibu tunggal, sama seperti keluarga pertama.
3. Sumbangan kos pemindahan sebanyak RM1, 000 setiap keluarga.
4. Rumah transit untuk setiap kelaurga secara percuma sehingga unit kos rendah yang ditawarkan telah siap sedia untuk kediaman.
5. Tempoh pertangguhan yang cukup untuk pemindahan.

Datuk YDP yang dihormati. Kira-kira lebih 150 budak sekolah tinggal di kawasan kami (termasuk ramai yang akan menduduki pemeriksaan STPM, SPM dan UPSR tahun ini), dan kami hanya diberitahu pada bulan Mei untuk memindah sebelum 31 Julai 2005, maka tentulah ini akan membawa banyak masalah kepada keluarga kami.

Oleh itu, kami memohon Datuk YDP dapat membantu kami dengan melanjutkan tempoh pertangguhan sehingga penghujungan tahun ini, iaitu 31 Disember 2005.
