BarisaStill a sandiwara – if Liow Tiong Lai’s speech was well-prepared to be distributed to delegates including representative from UMNO Youth, why wouldn’t MCA Youth distribute it that day instead of having it given to UMNO Youth few days later?

(Petaling Jaya, Friday) : Speech delivered by MCA Youth Chief Liow Tiong Lai on 18th August during the MCA Youth National Congress in Malay and Chinese are two totally different speeches whereby the Malay speech was not a total translated version from the original Mandarin version.

For example, the sixteen words of “ren bu fan wo, wo bu fan ren, ren nuo fan wo, wo bi fan ren” (人不犯我,我不犯人,人若犯我,我必犯人) in relation to Liow‘s Mandarin speech was not translated in Malay and we can say that the Malay and Chinese speeches were two totally different speeches. Instead, the Malay translation was only words of praises.

What is more regretting is that the full translation was only issued four days (22nd August 2007), this shows that MCA Youth had never intended to prepare the full Malay translation until when DAP put pressure on MCA Youth to check on their sandiwara gimmick.

Another point is that the full Malay translation is again different from the original simplified Malay translation. This has further strengthen our doubt that the original full translation was only done out of pressure exerted by DAP and civil society.

If the translation of the speech was already done on the day of the congress, why didn’t MCA Youth distribute the speeches to every body, including representatives from UMNO, and the speeches are only given to UMNO Youth several days later? Such sandiwara gimmick is certainly not welcomed.

UMNO Youth Chief Hishammuddin wielded Keris two years consecutively in 2005 and 2006 UMNO Youth Congress, while UMNO Youth Deputy Chief Khairy Jamaluddin had also issued racist statement against Chinese Malaysians, but MCA and MCA Youth failed miserably to rebut both UMNO and UMNO Youth. Some senior MCA leaders even went ahead to say that such act (wielding keris) is just a “symbol of their culture”. Even their words of criticism came only nine month later in Mandarin when Khairy attended MCA Youth Congress.

If MCA Youth is genuine of their own words, and if they want to prove that they are not playing the sandiwara gimmick, it is advisable that they defend their stand in front of UMNO Youth Chief and Deputy Youth Chief in the language that both of them understand.
