(Kuala Lumpur, Thursday) : Senior Vice-President, Lee Heng, a minor official of a minor political party like the PPP has no right to object to my criticism of PPP president Datuk M Kayveas. I have every right to comment on Kayveas’ unprofessional conduct. Kayveas is, in fact, biting the hand that fed it during his hour of need when applying for a ₤2, 000 loans from the MIC in 1985. He was sent a letter of demand dated 19th October, 1988 by the MIC to settle the outstanding balance of RM6, 084.00, but did not do so then. It is my duty as a Member of Parliament to ensure other Members of Parliament are honorable personalities.

In my view, the PPP is a shell company in the Barisan Nasional devoid of any substance or support from the people. The PPP has been out for grabs after passing away of the Seenivasagam brothers. The PPP was founded by the Seenivasagam brothers and held sway in the Kinta Valley in the late 1950s and 1960s. They were personalities who gave expression and life to the PPP. Kayveas is a far cry from the Seenivasagam brothers. It would be comparing chalk with cheese. I challenge Kayveas to contest in any of the following Parliamentary seats namely, Ipoh Timor, Ipoh Barat and Batu Gajah which are the strongholds of the DAP now. They compromise a substantial part of the Kinta Valley. However, it is unlikely Kayveas will be given a seat in the coming elections as he is becoming a nuisance and an embarrassment to both the Barisan Nasional and the opposition. Of course, the opposition will not accept Kayveas in its ranks.
