Perak State Government and Zambry urged to explain why the state government has allocated prime land to private companies without open tender
The Perak Barisan Nation State Government and Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Zambry Abd Kadir are urged to stop avoiding the issue and start explaining why the state government has allocated, without open tender and at a low price, 147 acres of prime land in Lumut and 32 acres in Kamunting to private companies.
In the most recent assembly sitting, Dato' Seri Mohd Nizar bin Jamaluddin said that in the company awarded the 32 acres of land in Kamunting, one of the shareholders is closely related to the BN Youth Chief. The company awarded the land in Lumut, is said to be close to Zambry himself.
When Nizar’s debate was interjected, Zambry confidently said that he will reply and “wait for Friday”, which is during the winding up speech. However, he has failed to respond to any of the accusations levied against the State Government.
Zambry through the UMNO back benchers had made the accusation of "Land in exchange of MBship" in their debate against the DAP State Chairman, Dato' Ngeh Koo Ham. This is an attempt to politically assassinate and to divert the attention of the public to lessen the emphasis on the land scandals as revealed by Pakatan Rakyat.
The allegation of “Land in exchange of MBship” is proven to be wrong and thoroughly baseless after the rebuttal by both Kelantan MB Nik Aziz and Ngeh. The fact that UMNO representatives showed the Sale and Purchase Agreement for Shares, dated 2012, is a slap back on their own face, proven that this is a normal sale and purchase business transaction.
Previously, Zambry had taken up the challenge of PR representatives and said that he will reveal all the lands approved by PR and BN since 2008. However, until today, there is no news. Up till 2011, BN has allocated 68503 acres of state land and only collected RM22,700,000.00 as premium, averaged at RM375 premium per acre. Until today, BN dare not announce the full list of beneficiaries therein.
Zambry has failed to reply on the land scandals revealed by PR, and he has also through the Speaker of the Dewan rejected the questions raised by PR reps. This only goes to show that BN government has no credibility.
