Two days ago, DAP Central Executive Committee at its meeting discussed the political funding issue and unanimously passed the following resolution:-
“ Demands that the RM2.6 billion donation scandal must not be whitewashed but fully addressed in the proposed National Committee to plan politically funding regulation by the Prime Minister as a pre-condition for DAP to participate”.
Since allegations were reported that RM 2.6 billion was deposited into his personal accounts before the 2013 General Elections, the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib has not answered the questions surrounding the allegations.
Instead of telling the whole truth which is the best approach since he keeps talking about being committed to transparency and insisting that there is nothing to hide, he has said and done things which clearly prove that he is unable or not prepared to walk his talk.
The whistleblower website Sarawak Report was blocked, the Edge Daily and The Edge Financial Daily were suspended and Ministers who were vocal on 1 MDB issue were dropped from the Cabinet, including the Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
And now the political funding law “sandiwara” and “gimmick “.
What credibility does he have when he talks about political funding reform but yet refuses to answer questions about the 1 MDB related allegations against him?
Najib should not think that Malaysians have accepted all his “ syok sendiri “ statements and “ tactic diversion “ gimmicks because the fact is that the more he says there is nothing to hide about 1 MDB scandal , the more people will believe there is everything to hide.
In the recent Cabinet schedule, MCA was given an additional Minister and deputy Minister’s posts. MCA secretary-general Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan was appointed International Trade and Industry Minister II.
Ong had told the media that strong unity in the party was one of the factors why the additional posts of minister and deputy minister were given to MCA in the Cabinet reshuffle.
I don’t think his analysis convinces many Malaysians who think that it is more because MCA has not and will not question 1 MDB scandal.
Is MCA prepared to prove the critics wrong?
