The managing director of SRC International Sdn Bhd, Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil and director of SRC International, Dato’ Suboh Md Yasin, are wanted by MACC.
In a media statement dated August 22, 2015[1], MACC has asked the SRC duo and businessman Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low, to contact it immediately to assist in the investigations connected with SRC International Sdn Bhd.
The MACC also requests that members of the public with any information on the whereabouts of these three persons to contact Assistant Commissioner Rosli Husain or Assistant Commissioner Norkhafizin Isa or the nearest MACC office.
In fact, members of the investigating team of the Special Task Force have been unable to locate Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil and Datuk Suboh Mohd Yassin since July[2].
Three months have lapsed. It is ridiculous and completely unacceptable when Datuk Seri Najib in his capacity as Finance Minister told me in a written answer dated October 21 that based on information provided by SRC International, Nik Faisal and Suboh “are making preparations to be interviewed by MACC soonest to help in the investigations”. What sort of preparation that takes more than 3 months? More fabrication?
MACC in their latest statement dated October 22, again urged SRC duo to come forward to get their statements recorded.
So I wonder, did these 2 directors contact MACC after MACC first statement on August 22, asking them to present themselves at the MACC Special Operations Division at Putrajaya?
It is common for criminals or wrongdoers to flee from investigation. But Nik Faisal and Suboh are directors of government-owned company, and they are appointed by Ministry of Finance. If they have nothting to hide, they should be more than willing to cooperate with another government agency and not avoiding them!
What appalled me is the leniency showed by the Ministry of Finance towards these two directors. Najib need to instruct Nik Faisal and Suboh to testify in MACC immediately. If they refuse to do so, Najib should at the very least revoke their directorship. Otherwise, it only means that SRC duo uncooperativeness is actually sanctioned and condoned by Najib.
