The following resolutions were passed unanimously by DAP Central Executive Committee(CEC) at our meeting last night:-
- Having considered the facts, evidence and explanations presented, the DAP Central Executive Committee condemns the malicious attacks against the DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng that he corruptly benefited from the sale of 1.2 acres of state land in Taman Manggis which was sold via open tender to the highest bidder in 2010 for the purpose of building a hospital.
- The DAP Central Executive Committee unanimously condemns the arrest of Rafizi Ramli, PKR Secretary-General and Member of Parliament for Pandan as a grave miscarriage of justice. It is an act abusing the powers of the Barisan Nasional regime to victimise and criminalise dissidents who speak up for the man on the street by exposing the failures and corrupt practices in Government entities.
The CEC reiterates our unequivocal support for Sdr Lim Guan Eng’s leadership and we have full confidence in his integrity and capability to continue to lead the DAP.
We call upon the Royal Malaysian Police to release Rafizi immediately, treat him with the respect he deserves as a democratically elected Member of Parliament and ensure that he receives a fair and just trial for any alleged crimes he may have committed.
