PAS “Taliban-mindset” to try regress Malaysia into a somewhat medieval past has no place in Malaysia and surely not conducive for development

The recent statement by PAS Youth Chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari that PAS will hold nationwide protest if the government do not cancel international concert further proves that PAS is not only bankrupt of ideas to move our country forward, but more importantly a threat to a multicultural and plural society like Malaysia.

This again comes after Hadi Awang controversial statement blaming the non-muslims and non-Bumiputeras for the cause of corruption in our country. First and foremost, if the Prime Minister is serious about his “Keluarga Malaysia concept”, Hadi must be sacked from all his government position including his Special Envoy to Middle East position which shares the same status as Minister.

PAS fixation of concerts in the midst of a possible economic slowdown and rampant corruption in Malaysia shows how they have their priorities confused and have nothing constructive to offer to everyday problems face by every Malaysian.

As part of the government, all they can offer to address everyday Malaysians problems seems to be to protest against concerts in our country.

Are all these concerts by so-called overseas artists even the cause of the moral collapse of the leaders in power which have led to billions stolen in cases like 1MDB, LCS, Tabung Haji, criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving millions of ringgit from Yayasan Akalbudi among others?

Why no nationwide protest for all these more serious matter especially against blatant corruption, bad governance, inequality, discrimination, and oppressive laws that are inflicting real damage to our country and its people?

Such “Taliban-mindset” to try regress Malaysia into a somewhat medieval past has no place in Malaysia and surely not conducive for development thus leaving us further behind trailing even with our other neighbouring countries.

All these divisive rhetoric is merely smokescreen for their leader’s incompetence in government in dealing with real issues that affects all Malaysians as well as their deafening silence against their own partners in government who are involved in grand corruption and kleptocracy.

This is why, there should not be a place for PAS in positions of power in our country. This is the kind of government PAS will bring, so vote wisely in the next GE.
