Balakong State Assemblyman, YB Eddie Ng Tien Chee today follows the volunteers to visit Kelantan and provides services in giving reliefs to the flood victims. The aftermath of the flood is totally heart-wrenching!
According to Ng, some of the affected areas were soaked in 8-foot deep and totally isolated from other areas. Besides, along the road to Gua Musang and Manik Urai, infrastructures and houses are all destroyed, and the victims are desperately waiting for assistance and reliefs, some even suffered without food, water and electricity for more than a week.
He said instant food like biscuits and bread are urgently needed instead of rice and oil. Victims can only cook at relief centres, but some of the rural and remote areas do not even have a relief center or community hall.
“The lost is unbearable, and a lot of the victims lost their home and everything overnight. Relief and reconstruction works of the affected areas do need efficient support from the federal government and all Malaysian. Those who wish to make some online donations can do so through a special account ‘Tabung Dana Kecemasan’ (Ambank 8881002244649)”.
In addition, Ng also urge the people especially Internet users not to spread any unconfirmed rumors about traffic conditions in the affected areas as this might disturb the flood relief operations.
