A vote for PN in Penang is a vote to extinguish Penang and forcibly return to Kedah against the wishes of Penangites

Penangites should use the coming state polls in Penang to expose Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor Muhammad Sanusi as a subversive element seeking to undermine the Federal Constitution as well as a clear and present danger to peace, harmony and unity of Malaysians. Instead of repenting for encouraging “violence” by referring to Penang as Constantinople and Perikatan Nasional supporters as Ottoman Sultan Muhammad al-Fateh, who led the conquest of Constantinople from the Eastern Rome Empire in 1453, Sanusi chose to make personal attacks against me.

I will not stoop as low as Sanusi because his personal attacks reveal that he has lost the argument by failing to respond with facts and reason. Sanusi’s use of war-like imagery or “violent or threatening” metaphors as he likes to claim, in his mindless pursuit to return Penang to Kedah, exposes his readiness to risk divisiveness and create enmity amongst Malaysians, particularly 1.8 million Penangites.

Whilst no one questions Penang’s history that was once part of Kedah, historians and constitutional experts reaffirm that the Conference of Rulers, including the Kedah Sultan, and the Federal Constitution both validates and verifies Penang as a sovereign state in Malaysia. This is why Sanusi had even made the inflammatory, illegal and seditious suggestion to amend the Federal Constitution to extinguish Penang to return it back to Kedah.

Sanusi has escalated his solo claim of returning Penang back to Kedah with war and violent imagery causing unease and upsetting many Penangites. Not only as he showed contempt for the Federal Constitution and the Conference of Rulers, Sanusi has also ignored the feelings and over-ridden the wishes of 1.8 million Penangites.

Sanusi is not promoting Kedah’s interests when he knows that this is already a constitutional fact and actual reality that cannot be altered or varied. Sanusi has not hidden his intention to use extremist and racist polemics to attract support, and is exploiting this Penang issue as a political tactic to distract attention of Kedahans from his failures of governance such as providing clean tap water without supply being interrupted regularly, business and work opportunities for a better life for Kedahans.

For this reason, Penangites must turn up fully to vote in the coming state elections for good governance and to live a better life as well as defend, protect and preserve the sovereignty of Penang. A vote for PN in Penang is a vote to extinguish Penang and forcibly return to Kedah against the wishes of Penangites.

Whilst we await the outcome of police investigations into Sanusi for such irresponsible remarks, 1.8 million Penangites must send a loud and clear message to support the unity government and vote against PN in order to preserve our lifestyle and protect the sovereignty of Penang.
