In reference to Abdul Rahman Dahlan’s tweets on questioning Bersih’s funding and urging them to pay up RM 65,000 billed by DBKL, one can see clearly how hypocritical the statements were. The fact that he can’t even reveal where the RM 2.6 billion that went into the Prime minister bank account shows how Rahman Dahlan failed to look after of his own backyard.
Rahman Dahlan should understand that Bersih is a public rally and the job of local authorities is to provide space and security for rally attendees.
Rahman Dahlan should also refer to Article 10 of the Federal Constitution which states that it is the right of every citizen to assemble peacefully, have freedom of speech and expression and also freedom of association.
Rahman Dahlan should also take note that the participants of Bersih 4 ensured that there was volunteers that actually assisted in cleaning up the streets of Kuala Lumpur throughout the entire rally.
Will Rahman Dahlan also ask DBKL to bill the group of Red Shirts that gathered around Dataran Merdeka and not forgetting the group that caused damage at Low Yat area during the Holy month of Ramadhan? Let’s not be hypocrites here.
One cannot help but wonder if the question on where the money went is actually directed to his own boss on the RM2.6 billion donation he received from a generous donor?
Bersih has mentioned that they will present a report of their accounts. Has the Prime Minister said the same?
Therefore it is suggested that Rahman Dahlan should take the initiative to urge the Prime Minister to come clean on the RM 2.6 billion which is recently questioned by Transparency International Chairman Jose Ugaz during 16th International Anti – Corruption Conference (IACC) and still being questioned by all Malaysians.
