DAP Perak state committee today urged all members in the state to stay united & contribute their best in order to ensure the party’s victory at the coming Teluk Intan by Election which is to be held on 31st May, 2014.
A meeting was held at the state headquarter yesterday and it was resolved unanimously to appoint the state secretary Wong Kah Woh, who is also the assemblymen for Canning to be campaign director. State deputy chairman V Sivakumar and state dapsy secretary Howard Lee are appointed as co-deputy chairman of the by-election working committee. The said committee also comprises all the state committee members and Teluk Intan Parliamentary liason committee members.
DAP Perak also states that the state committee had also agreed unanimously to submit a list of short listed candidates to the party central committee candidate selection panel and it is expected to do so after Bukit Gelugor by election nomination day. The DAP candidate is expected to be announced by the party secretary general, Lim Guan Eng before Teluk Intan by Election nomination date which falls on 19th May, 2014.
In order to express steadfast comradeship with the late YB Seah Leong Peng, the state committee also resolved, subject to the consent of the family, to contribute RM3000 to Seah’s family as his children education fund.
Pakatan Rakyat Perak had resolved to organize a mammoth rally at Kampung Bahagia, changkat Jong Teluk Intan on the 18th May, 2014, which is the eve of the nomination date. PR top leaders including Lim Kit Siang and Mat Sabu are expected to be present to deliver speeches.
