BN Perak Govt should feel ashame and not take pride that it takes 7 years just to build an overhead bridge. Perak which has become the 2nd poorest state in Malaysia and will continue to lag behind if the State continue to develop at such a slow pace.
I refer to the announcement that the overhead bridge costing RM2.0 mil in front of SMK Nan Hwa in Sitiawan will commence construction in mid January and expected to be completed in 8 months’ time. It is regrettable that such a small project took so many years to complete. I had in 2008 as the Senior Exco of the Pakatan Rakyat Perak State Government planned to construct the said overhead bridge and the same would have been built in 2009 but the project was shelved by BN State Govt after grabbing power on 6 Feb 2009.
Similarly, in Ayer Tawar the parallel road to the Ayer Tawar Main Road which I had allocated RM5.0 mil then to build would have been completed in 2009 had it not been for the power grab. Despite repeated promises by BN State govt the Ayer Tawar parrallel road which now will costs about RM8.0 mil has yet to start. If this is the pace of development in Perak, Perak will continue to lag behind. Perak which used to be one of the richest states in Malaysia is now the 2nd poorest state in Malaysia by comparison of household incomes.
By comparison, projects worth billions of Ringgit are carried out in Penang every year bringing higher paying jobs and prosperity to the people of Penang. BN Perak government should feel ashame that it takes years just to carry out a small project like an overhead bridge. Overhead bridges are built every where without it being mention but in Perak, BN/MCA Perak makes it as if it is such a great achievement. This is pathetic.
Perak Government needs to be changed if the people wants to see development similarly to that seen in Penang under the Pakatan Harapan Government.
