BN-UMNO leaders suffer from the Van Goebbels dictum of lying so much, they actually believe in their own lies

The latest unbelievable racist rant from Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minsiter, Datuk Ismail Sabri only proved one thing about UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders – their cohorts lie so much in public and in social media to victimize their political opponents that they have actually come to believe their own myths and fabrications.

Datuk Ismail Sabri first accused the Chinese of hiking up prices of goods and services, and hence called for the “majority” Malay community to boycott Chinese businesses. He then asserted that the popular “Old Town Kopitiam” chain is owned by the DAP Member of Parliament, Ngeh Koo Ham, whom he accused of being anti-Malay and anti-Muslims and hence, should be similarly boycotted.

Both of these arguments and assertions have been based on myths and lies concocted and spread by the UMNO media and supporters either via their own newspapers, or by their cybertroopers via the various Internet platforms. They are not new and have been circulating for perhaps a year or two.

The fact of the matter is that these lies and untruths have been refuted many times. Ngeh for example, had issued a few statements to refute the baseless allegations, whether via the traditional media channels or the Internet in the past. It is not difficult to verify for example, who are the real owners of Old Town Kopitiam especially since the café chain is now a publicly listed company.

Empirical evidence will also testify to the fact that price hikes occurs across the board whenever the cost of production or delivery increases, be they in the grocery shops, pasar tani, coffee shops or mamak outlets. Such increases are natural economic phenomenons which cut across all races. Measures to tackle price hikes are to be implemented across the board and not by recklessly inciting hatred between races.

However, the above proved that the BN-UMNO leaders who have initiated the malicious lies in the cypersphere to achieve their political ends by poisoning the minds of the Malay community against the other ethnic communities, have clearly started to believe in their own lies.

Many other similar cases have happened before this. The current Home Minister, Dato’ Seri Zahid Hamidi for example, had during a press conference, opening accused me of being charged in Court for a criminal offence in Singapore. He had claimed that he had documentary evidence that not only was I charged, I was able to release myself from such charges after I cut a deal with the Singapore government. According to Dato’ Zahid Hamidi, as part of the deal, I was unable to become a Member of Parliament in Singapore but instead was required to return to Malaysia, apparently to do their bidding.

Such incredible tall tales came direct from the Minister’s mouth after such allegations started surfacing on the World Wide Web. I had sued the Minister (and Utusan Malaysia) for defamation and Dato’ Zahid Hamidi had to embarrassingly retract his allegations as having utterly no basis in open court and pay costs for the suit in a settlement last August.

Datuk Ismail Sabri, Datuk Zahid Hamidi and many other top BN and UMNO leaders are all cut from the same cloth. They have no morals nor ethics, and they practice and believe in the Nazi propagandist, Dr Joseph Goebbels “Big Lie”, that

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it… It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

In a quote often attributed to Goebbels himself, “if you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself.” Our BN-UMNO Ministers and leaders are certainly suffering from the “Big Lie” syndrome, believing in their own malicious lies.
