Bung’s tweet proves that he is a misogynist

Kinabatangan MP Datuk Bung Moktar Radin’s yesterday’s tweet —“I was criticised when I once said that most women drivers are hot tempered. “This (my argument) has been proven by Kiki. CDM 25,”– has not proven that he was right, but has proven that he is a misogynist .

The actions of Siti Fairrah Asyikin Kamaruddin, also known as Kiki, who flew into a rage after an accident in Kuantan, have nothing to do with race or gender.

Bung’s eagerness to use the incident to justify his past argument that most women drivers are hot tempered shows his misogynistic attitude.

Bung’s sexist remarks are totally unacceptable, ridiculous and foolish.

In 2007, Bung had uttered sexist remarks on a female MP’s menstrual cycle in Parliament which he later apologized for it.

Then recently in the Parliament sitting, he criticised my dressing which he said was “inappropriate” when I had complied with the Parliament’s dress code.

In fact, he has made several more foot in the mouth remarks including the recent Long Live Hitler tweet.

When Bung‘s recent Long Live Hitler remark drew massive criticisms, Umno president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib said Bung was aware of the party’s stand that any public statements could not be against the party’s policy.

“We do not have any specific rules regarding social media but I have reminded all Umno members that whatever statements they make reflects on the party,” he said.

It is obvious that the recalcitrant MP has not taken his reminder seriously. May be the Prime Minister should find out if Bung was not happy that he was outdone by Datuk Mohd Hafarizam Harun who made the sexist remark that Dr Wan Azizah cannot become Selangor Mentri Besar because of her menstrual cycle.

I strongly suggest Dato’ Rohani Abdul Karim, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development to invite Bung Moktar Radin to attend gender sensitization and counseling course, so that he can be gender sensitive in future, and save Barisan Nasional from further political embarrassment.
