I endorse and support the Himpunan May Day (HMD) which is initiated by Bersih Sabah and getting support from 46 NGOs, by attending the rally held in Kota Kinabalu.
I call upon BN / UMNO government to listen to the Rakyat. We are here not to create chaos and disorder in society but demanding justice to be returned to Sabah.
I call upon police to maintain order and security of the citizens. Please abide by the high court ruling that the restriction order to ban public to enter the five gathering points in city has expired. Our right to hold free assembly cannot be denied and it is under protection of constitution.
HMD is a historical day for Sabah. Thousands of people dare to stand up and fight for our own rights even after warnings by the government of the day. It is a new chapter for Sabah political movement as more and more citizens awaken and aware of their own rights.
Lastly, I call upon cross partisan cooperation after the HMD. Illegal immigrants, marginalization of the state, under development of economic activities, discriminating cabotage policy, higher living costs, rampant corruption, exploitation of natural resources without control are among the issues affecting Sabah and depriving our rights. No single party can solve the issues alone as it is too complicated. Let’s all of us stand together and fight for the equal opportunity for Sabah to grow in future!
