MCA Wanita chief Heng Seai has been calling on the Police to take action against me for my satirical video.
She has even accused me of lacking in patriotism because my video has spoilt the image of the nation’s leaders.
Yesterday she issued a statement objecting against the slap Teresa Kok for reward offer made by the self styled “Council of Islamic NGOs.
But she has come under heavy criticism by netizens because it is plain to all that the real purpose of her statement was to repeat her point that I should be dealt with by the law.
In her statement, she also said she objected against the cash for slapping Teresa Kok offer and also the protest by smearing chicken blood on the banner featuring photographs of Pakatan Rakyat leaders. She further said that chicken should not be sacrificed for the wrong committed by one person. She pitied the chicken which was innocent.
Many netizens have questioned why she did not condemn the disgusting act of the protesters and merely said she “objected against”.
I have said more than once that my video did not touch on race, religion, royalty or Lahad Datu incident. Bar Council president Christopher Leong and many law experts have also pointed out that there is nothing seditious in my video and that I have not violated any law.
Despite this, Heng has pushed for action against me. I therefore challenge her to state:-
- Which part of my video is against the law?
- What law have I violated?
- Which lawyer has told her that my video has violated the law?
I admit that my video is controversial and not everyone who watches it will be pleased about it. It is purely a satirical video made in conjunction with Chinese New Year. I know many people have enjoyed the video and had a good laugh.
Even if Heng does not have the sense of humor like many Malaysians do, there is no reason and justification for her to also accuse me of not respecting Chinese New Year or worse still, egg on the extremists protects against me.
I don’t know if Heng has watched the video. If she had, she would surely find out that all the issues discussed in the video are actually people’s issues, that is, issues which the public have been talking about in their daily conversation or in the social media.
It is not wrong therefore to say that the content of the video is in fact a reflection of the public sentiment on a host of issues including education, price hikes etc.
