The recently exposed illegal syndicated sale of MyKad is an abhorrence and must be dealt with by the strongest measure of the law. The perpetrators’ actions are tantamount to treason, and those complicit must be brought to justice for their betrayal of our nation’s sovereignty.
Citizenship is both a right and a privilege that can only be afforded by birth or conferred upon the fulfillment of terms, conditions, criteria and procedures set by law. Any circumvention or departure from the law, as a result of corrupt back door practices jeapordises our national identity and the spirit of our supreme law- the federal constitution.
Whilst all forms of corruption are equally abhorrent, acquiring citizenship or forging citizenship documents by corrupt and illegal means is an especially gross violation of our public institutions. There are still many fellow born and bred Malaysians who have been for decades- and still are- shackled by statelessness ; such deceit and betrayals rub salt in their already unbearable pain.
It is also disturbing that certain irresponsible parties have resorted to insane defamatory allegations of DAP orchestrating the sale of MyKads to citizens of the People’s Republic of China. If this has even a hint of truth to it, DAP would not need to openly raise the issue of Statelessness and red MyKads to the Minister of Home Affairs Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. It would be much easier and more profitable to simply sell MyKads to the pending applicants directly without a word. DAPSY stresses that these allegations are absolute fabrications of political desperadoes seeking cheap political gains against the DAP.
DAPSY is uncompromising on our position regarding the illegal syndicated sale of MyKads, as well as towards all complicit with the perpetrators; it is criminal by nature and must be condemned with the application of the strongest measure of law. Corrupt transactions of interests in exchange for citizenship and/or its documents is nothing short of a betrayal of our Nation- in short it is Treason.
DAPSY hereby repeats our call to the Ministry of Home Affairs to take swift and diligent action in solving the long standing problems of pending citizenship applications of qualified applicants- for no other reason than their being qualified and eligible in the face of our supreme law.
