DAP did not succeed in convincing Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to close down the Lynas Rare Earth Plant but will continue trying to persuade the Prime Minister to understand the genuine concerns of environmentalists

The stubborn determination of the racist and religious extremist leadership of PAS-UMNO combo to regain power, together with their MCA and MIC apologists has reached a dangerous level, with the latest issue on Zakir Naik. With PAS and UMNO stoking racial and religious hatred amongst the Malays and Muslims whilst their MCA and MIC apologists doing likewise amongst non-Malays and non-Muslims, they hope to create a perfect chaos to see the end of PH.

A good example is former Prime Minister and BN National Advisor Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak alleging that DAP is now the kingmaker in PH, with DAP Ministers(who are non-Malays and non-Muslims) appointed causing escalating tension amongst the Malays. Such lies by Najib is immediately exposed when DAP’s did not succeed in convincing the Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to close down Lynas rare earth plant but will continue trying to persuade the Prime Minister to understand the genuine concerns of environmentalists. And yet Najib contradicts himself by asking so-called “kingmaker” DAP leaders to resign for failing to close down the Lynas rare earth plant?

Clearly neither the opposition nor the newspapers they control will highlight the remarkable success of the PH government in recording a higher 2019 second quarter economic growth of 4.9% compared to the first quarter’s 4.5%. Malaysia is the only ASEAN country that has recorded higher economic growth in the second quarter than the first quarter of 2019.

Such racist and religious extremist stereotypes is typical of the opposition, when they sing a different tune when facing non-Malays and non-Muslims. A MCA or MIC that warns of the dangers from racists and religious extremists threatening non-Malays and non-Muslims, is working closely with an UMNO and PAS that wants to take away the rights of non-Malays and non-Muslims. Does PAS, UMNO, MCA and MIC believe that Malaysians regardless of race, religion or background, are so gullible as to fall for such ethnic and religious hatred, to divert attention away from the opposition’s corruption, or economic incompetence where they can not even afford to pay the salaries of government employees?

The fanciful dreams of PAS, UMNO, MCA and MIC to regain power in the Federal government, through playing up racial hatred and religious fears, will not succeed when the PH government is committed to adopt a rational and moderate approach towards both nation-building and handling hot-button issues. Further, the PH government is committed to listen to the people including differing views, even when decisions are made to actively explore better alternatives. This is part and parcel of democracy and DAP leaders will continue to play an active part towards better decision-making that will improve democracy, public health and safety as well as the living standard of the rakyat.
