DAP welcomes any investigation into PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man’s allegation as we promote transparency and we are not afraid of being investigated and most importantly, DAP does not sanction lying unlike PAS

Last week, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, who is also Kubang Kerian MP, urged the MACC to initiate a probe against Pakatan Harapan component parties, for allegedly receiving funding from Israel. PAS Youth has also claimed to have lodged police reports on DAP for allegedly receiving foreign funding.

In response, I stress again that DAP welcomes any investigation into this allegation as we promote transparency and we are not afraid of being investigated and most importantly, DAP does not sanction lying unlike PAS.

3 years ago in parliament, I asked the then BN’s Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi the status of the police investigation into 2 reports made against DAP on the false allegation that the party received fund from Israel. In a written reply (https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2016/03/09/zahid-confirms-mcmc-probing-claim-israel-is-funding-dap/), Ahmad Zahid essentially indicated that police ceased investigating the alleged “offence” and the matter was referred to The Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Since then, it was a total silence from the BN government, DAP’s arch-enemy, on the apparent malicious and fallacious story about DAP receiving Jewish fund, until after the collapse of BN government in the 14th General Election.

3 years ago, PAS announced that they would make public evidence to support its allegation of a RM1.2 billion fund from Israel for DAP. Till this day, we have not seen a shred of evidence. Why is PAS now suddenly concerned about this falsehood, 3 years later? The answer is that this is just a lame pathetic diversion tactic by PAS leaders when they realised many of their grassroots were angered by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s “blessings” to Bachok MP Nik Abduh Nik Aziz to lie about the latter’s voice, admitting that the party had received millions from Umno.

I dare Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man to state clearly in a public arena that DAP had accepted funding from Israel. If he does that, I will not hesitate to initiate a defamation lawsuit. If he doesn’t, that will mean that he and certain PAS leaders are not hesitant to use lies to attack DAP. After all, PAS believes that “lies to protect the party is acceptable”. We should not be surprised.
