In response to the Perak PAS chairman Razman’s remarks calling for unity among Malays while targeting Chinese Malaysians with discriminatory comments, DAPSY National Chairman, YB Woo Kah Leong strongly condemned Razman for inciting racial discord within our multiracial society.
Woo emphasized that all citizens should unite under the concept of “Bangsa Malaysia” and fully reject the discriminatory, defamatory, and regressive mentality propagated by PAS.
“Since its founding, Malaysia has always been a diverse country. In this era of significant challenges, we should focus on finding common ground in our differences and work together to chart a better future for Malaysia. However, in its relentless pursuit of power, PAS has continually sought to dismantle the foundation of a multiracial society. They have no idea how to govern a nation and are completely unfit to govern any government,” he said.
Woo, who is also Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) Member, reiterated that voters have the freedom to support the parties they believe in. He noted that many voters support the DAP because they support its inclusive vision of defending the rights of all citizens.
“What has PAS contributed to our country in recent years? Other than pushing for conservatism and discriminating against non-Muslims, they’ve contributed nothing to society or the economy. Do they even understand what the people of Perak want? Perak residents want political stability, harmony, and an open and diverse society—not a meddlesome PAS that interferes in people’s lives. Stop blaming Chinese voters. Instead, look in the mirror—the real reason is that people simply don’t want to associate with a regressive PAS.”
Woo also pointed out that before 2008, Perak had long been dominated by the Barisan Nasional coalition. The DAP did not, as Razman claimed, “automatically win” 18 state assembly seats since 1999.
Woo accused Razman of deliberately distorting historical facts to mislead the public, once again exposing PAS’s repeated habit of spreading false information and engaging in defamation.
Woo further recalled that in December 2024, Razman was pressured to issue a public and unconditional apology after falsely accusing DAP parliamentary leader YB Nga Kor Ming of participating in a rally where “the China national flags were waved by Malaysians.”
“How many more times will Razman resort to defamation? PAS frequently smears minority groups and stirs up racial tension. What gives them the right to claim they can govern Perak, a state that thrives on diversity and harmony? What gives these unproductive PAS politicians, who are essentially parasites, the right to draw salaries funded by taxpayers?”
Woo reaffirmed that Perak is on a path toward inclusivity, openness, and pragmatic development. Without PAS’s extremist and divisive politics, Perak can look forward to a brighter future.
He pledged that the DAP, together with the Madani Government, would steadfastly defend Perak’s multiracial unity and diversity, rejecting any further attempts by PAS to undermine the state’s foundation of harmony.
