Disband ESSCOM, empower people with arms

I urge the BN government to disband the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) for being totally fails the people. Instead of putting the trust for protecting people’s lives and wealth with the proven failed ESSCOM bureaucrats, I suggest that empowering people with arms is the alternative to address the security issue.

First, its better just disband ESSCOM and place the security of Sabah directly under the Home Ministry or Defence Ministry. People are fed up with all the uncontrolled kidnapping cases which seems like never stop.

Second, ESSCOM put their priority totally wrong. What’s wrong with barter trade until need to be frozen and suspended? Is the suspension helping in stopping the cross border crime? None at all.

Third, it’s misconception to put the security measures relied on the satellite deployment. It’s the will and commitment to combat crime, not the technology.

Fourth, it has been proven that the security condition of those resorts located in the remotes islands are now being improved, with the deployment of armed forces in those tourism hot spots. Hence, it’s important to have the similar measures for those fishing boats and goods vessels.

If ESSCOM can’t provide armed forces in every fishery vessels, why not our government consider to empower our own people who risks their lives for earning in the open sea there by allocating arms to them? Self protection is much more reliable than those armed forces who are away from them.

In conclusion, the people has lost their patience and wants to have immediate solution for the long overdue security issues in the East Coast of Sabah. If government can’t protect us, let us protect ourselves.
