Dr Akmal Salleh should focus on constructive issues facing the country rather than instigating divisive sentiments

Dr Akmal Salleh should focus more on constructive issues facing the country rather than instigating divisive sentiments against fellow Ministers in the Unity Government without understanding the real issue and the intention of the cabinet’s decision.

The core issue is to obtain adequate funding for schools and education in Malaysia to complement the fundings from the government for these schools. No one wants to bring negative influence to the schools and the students, and such principle is reflected in the cabinet decision where logos and advertisement of such items are not allowed in schools.

So making claims that “After this, (we) can invite gaming companies to hold programmes in schools and (we) allow breweries to hold programmes in schools as well” shows his ignorance and clear misunderstanding of the cabinet’s decision or purposefully tryin to incite division by misleading the people on intention and direction of the cabinet’s decision.

Questions also need to be asked on his intentions to insinuate and singleout a DAP Minister when it is a collective cabinet decision by all.

Fact is, such practices has been on-going for 30 over years through different administrations and governments but has never been made an issue.

As a young leader, he should be raising constructive ideas and alternatives to address the needs of the schools whether it is on adequate funding for all schools or even on important educational reforms to ensure the quality of education in our schools is on par with developed countries.

A responsible leader always finds opportunity to unite and not divide.

Such important matter and offering constructive alternatives and improving our education quality is what should unite us all regardless of our race or religion.
