Penang State Government have allocated RM1.5 Million for Flood Relief Management. From this, RM500,000.00 can Immediate be used for procurement of essential items like milk powder, sanitary towel and potable water. This will be endorsed in the next EXCO meeting.
Meanwhile we are appealing for contribution in kind of this items and can be sent to Kompleks Masyarakat Penyayang (Puan Salbiah Bt Samsudin 04 2264531 / 042277413) during working hours from 8.00am to 5.00pm. Please take note that we have enough used clothing for distribution.
Most of the road access leading to disaster area have cut off. Firefly have offer us relief by CSR transporting goods from Penang to Kota Baru. The collected items for Kota Bharu flood victims will be flown into the state capital by Firefly Airlines. Firefly is spearheading the effort to provide rescue and relief flights to and from Kota Baru, Kelantan and Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu as part of its contribution to channeling emergency assistance to those affected by the floods in the east coast of Malaysia. Immediately, all available seats and cargo space aboard Firefly flights to and from these two airports will be donated and used for the cause.
We are now inspecting our preparations to handle the flooding. Especially on the mainland, SPS, MPSP, JKM. KEH and MPSP are working together to ensure all preparation are as according the the SOP for Disaster Management.
