PAS President Hadi Awang should stop attacking DAP in a racial manner using ‘UMNO style’ politics. The attack by Hadi Awang is nothing but a desperate attempt to maintain relevance as they have no allies since the demise of Pakatan Rakyat.
DAP has no any intention to amend laws such as allowing alcohol consumption and gambling among Muslims as DAP has no intention to intervene in Islamic laws imposed upon the Muslims. Just as we respect the federal constitution, we in the DAP also respect Islam as the religion of the federation which is consistent ever since the formation of the party.
DAP’s agenda is clear, it has no intentions push for a religious or anti-religious agenda. Our programme is built on the values of Democracy, Justice and Solidarity of and for all Malaysians. Therefore Hadi should stop playing UMNO style politics in order to attack DAP just to gain political mileage. Also, as a President of an Islamic political party, Hadi should also realise that any form of racist statements or racism is against Islamic teachings.
As for the struggle to push for local government elections, the DAP believes in local governance democracy as the livelihood of the Rakyat in every aspect matters. The DAP has always strived to push for efficient governance in every level which only benefits the Rakyat regardless if race or religion.
