Have Teo Chee Kang forgotten about LDP disagreement with Musa leadership before?

I wonder that Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) President Datuk Teo Chee Kang may suffering from amnesia. Replying to the statement of Teo, which describing Pakatan Rakyat (PR) attempt to file a motion of no confidence against Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman for the failure of Esscom as a desperate act and a political stunt, I criticize Teo is so good in defending his boss until selectively deleting part of his memory about the LDP’s disagreement with Musa before.

Have Teo forgotten what had happened three years ago?

I remind Teo that, on 24th August 2010, LDP deputy president Datuk Chin Su Phin has issued a statement, saying that the party could no longer work with Musa. The then vice president of LDP, Datuk Peter Pang En Yin, had to announce his resignation from the party to remain in the state cabinet.

Recently, the former LDP president Datuk VK Liew has revealed that, both Chin and Teo had issued statements of no confidence against the Chief Minister when he was away in China for an official visit. According to Liew, LDP was close to leaving the BN coalition but he resisted the move, in the height of the Mazu controversial issue where the Chief Minister was sued for abuse of power.

Can Teo clarify what happened actually? If what Liew revealed is true, can we describe LDP’s official statement that ‘no longer work with Musa’ three years ago was a desperate political stunt as well? Why did LDP change it’s stand and work under Musa until now?

Citing the 9/11 incident as an example is not appropriate. That incident only happen once. But the kidnapping cases in ESSZONE are repeating and never-ending. We did not move the no confidence motion against Chief Minister after Sulu intrusion. We did not do it as well in last state assembly sitting, we only try to move the emergency motion but rejected.

However, we have no choice after the kidnapping cases has had happened continuously in last three months. We can’t tolerate with this anymore.

PR’s attempt to file in the motion is not desperate political stunt, but it’s educating the people that we have our very right to voice out disagreement with the current leadership. Sabah is the land below the wind, not the land of one man and above criticisms.
