Today I asked the state executive councilor for investment affairs, in the state assembly: How much of the 70.6 billion committed by foreign investors in 2022 has actually been realised?
Executive Councilor replied:
- Among the 166 industrial investment projects worth 14.6 billion, 109 projects totaling 8.15 billion were implemented;
- Among the 135 investment projects of 51.4 billion in the service industry, 51 projects totaling 51.15 billion have been implemented.
Of the total 70.6 billion committed investments, 84% were implemented, a good achievement.
The foreign investment we attract needs to continue to attract high added value and provide high-skilled jobs, and the direction of economic development can be towards new technology and new renewable energy (RE), so that Johor can become a leading and extraordinary state in Malaysia.
