Investigate other high ranking officials as well

I urge the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) to not stop at the Water Department probe only, and further check on the other government departments and agencies, without fear and favor, in order to combating corruption syndrome in the public sector.

The biggest cash seizure ever following the arrest of top duo for Water Department has shown that, serious leakages and wastage caused by misconduct and corruption, has been taken place in our state administration, as the suspects were starting to collect their wealth by monopolizing the contracts worth RM3.3 billion since 2010, as reported by MACC.

I commend the MACC for their good works and urge them to also conduct investigation on the other high ranking officials of state government departments and agencies.

Any lay man on the street would wonder with the RM52 million cash seized in the top duo officials of Water Department. They are just director and deputy director of a department which the public perceives that less opportunities to create wealth out of misconduct. If Water Department could have had this kind of scandal, how about other government departments and agencies which always awarding out a lot of tenders and concessions? People would ask.

In order to restore the public confidence, MACC should conduct immediate investigation for those state government departments and agencies which has been received complaints repeatedly.

For instance, many have made reports against Sabah Forestry Department and Sabah Foundation. Public puzzled with no one held for responsible for the death of Pygmies in Sabah Foundation forest reserves which had happened last month. Similar tragedy had also happened two years ago but until now, no one has brought to the front of the justice.

Land and Survey Department, also need a thorough checking, to investigate is there any misconduct to benefit the big corporate, as so many NCR cases fought by the natives through legal means in the court.

With the promise and commitment shown by the state Chief Minister DATUK Seri Musa Aman, who pledged to give full support to MACC, the state administration would regain the public confidence, if the MACC continues with their fighting graft in other government departments and agencies, without fear and favor.

Let’s get all masterminds, middlemen, runners to the front of Justice. We should protect the good name of state administration, by showing our utmost priority and strong political will, to plug all leakages and wastage, for the good of the public.
