For the past two weeks “Friends of BN” facebook page went on a systematic attack against DAP Perak Chairman Nga Kor Ming alleging that he received a logging contract in Gua Musang, causing the floods in Kelantan. These accusations are nothing but baseless, slanderous and defamatory lies spread to discredit DAP and Pakatan Rakyat leaders.
In a press conference in DAP Perak HQ last week, Nga had challenged the owner of facebook page “Friends of BN” to show his face so that he could initiate a legal action. Nga also promised to donate all the damages awarded by the court to the flood victims in Kelantan.
For the past week, “Friends of BN” not only failed to revealed their real identity but instead ramp up the attack with multiple postings against Nga.
Yesterday, I have lodged a report at MCMC Ipoh against “Friends of BN” for spreading defamatory, falsehood and malicious lies on social media. I urge the MCMC to immediately investigate and publicly reveal the owner of the Facebook page “Friends of BN” so that a legal suit could be filed against them.
In the past cases, MCMC managed to identified the owner behind the fake Facebook account who insulted Islam, stirring racial issues and insult the king. This proves that MCMC has the ability to investigate and identify the Facebook page owner of “Friends of BN”.
I urge all facebook users to report the “Friends of BN” page to Facebook for the systematic spreading of defamatory, falsehood and malicious lies. With the rate of posting an average of 20 – 30 Facebook post a day, it is clear that there is a group of professional cybertroopers managing “Friends of BN”.
Former UMNO Supreme council member Saifuddin Abdullah revealed in October 2012 that BN has hosted 10 social media conventions in different states to raise an army of over 10,000 UMNO-BN cybertroopers. Is “Friends of BN” facebook page part of the 10,000 UMNO-BN cybertroopers recruited to spread lies and falsehood on social media?
